beautiful day

i think U2 said it best when they sang these lyrics:

It's a beautiful day

Don't let it get away

It's a beautiful day

Don't let it get away

today, i stopped to smell the roses on my 11 mile run. here are parts of my run in pictures:

fresh controlled burn brings out the trail
more controlled burn
one of many bat houses. aren't they cute?
fire road that i run on that leads to the main loop-a paved loop

water station at end of fire road. you can find these water stations every 2 miles on the loop. a god send on hot, summer days. especially when running
this is the flooded part of the park i mentioned in my previous post. you should have seen it over the weekend. it was at least 4-5 feet deep. i know where i'm riding tomorrow morning!
part of the main loop. not a soul around. peaceful.
off one of the fire roads
one of my favorite trail/fire roads to run on
a couple of triathletes riding by the water station on my last water stop before heading home
white ibis on one of the ponds heading home
last pond on the way home. see the waves? the wind has been horrible here lately and i can always tell by looking at the pond. i was glad to not be on my bike today.
catch me if you can!

  2. Hi KC!

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. I see you're doing The Great Floridan!! I did that race last year and it was my first iron tri finish. Wow, what a tough course but so satisfying to finish. I'll be excited to follow along on your 140.6 journey. Enjoyed your photos!

  6. Nice! I need to get down there again soon. I start almost all of my runs with that song, by the way. Everything else can be a random mix, but it just gets me in the right mindset to start running to Beautiful Day.

See you at the pool in the morning!
